The brochure is intended to address some of the most common legal questions which are asked about discrimination against gay people. The thirty-six questions and their answers are meant to serve as a basic guide to an area of law that is rapidly changing.

Tim Sweeney, Lambda's Executive Director, said "The questions in this brochure are compiled from the more than two dozen calls we receive at Lambda each week. GEAR Appoints Building Manager

After the public meeting held in May, the GEAR Foundation hired Peg Fabbro as the new building manager for the center and upstairs apartments. Peg works in the building from 2:30 until 5:30 during the weekdays.

As building manager, Peg is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of three basements, three first floor store fronts and six second floor apartments. At the present time there are four vacancies with rents ranging from $100 for an efficiency to $150 for a two bedroom apartment.

Given time, money and volunteer help (Peg is THE maintenance staff) many improvements can be made on the center and accompanying building space to make the efforts a profitable venture for the GEAR Foundation and the community center.

Tentative plans for the Community Center and building are: 1. Removal of plaster and lathe from the north wall, clean and recondition the brick wall.

2. Installation of an exhaust fan in the north wall and/or brick in the other opening.

3. Completion of the west wall OR remodel the entire facade.

4. Insulation of the west wall.

5. Cover the south wall.

* fabric, plaster and paint OR * wall board and paint

6. Scrape and refinish the tin ceiling.

7. Installation of new light fixtures and bringing the wiring up to code for inspection.

8. Installation of ceiling fans.

If you are interested in volunteering your time and/or willing to donate some money, you can call the Hotline and leave a message for Peg.

Special thanks goes out to David, Jack and Sandy for their help in renovating of the suites.
